In 1919 the first Lake Worth bridge replaced the ferry boats that used to carry people across the Intracoastal.
On July 4, 1919 a convoy of cars made the first trip across the new Lake Worth bridge to the ocean side.
In 1926 a powerful hurricane devastated parts of Palm Beach County. Lake Worth sustained major damage, but no lives were lost.
The Oakley Theater is on the the premiere Art Deco structures in Lake Worth Beach. Today it houses the Lake Worth Playhouse.

When the Casino opened the salt water pool, it became very popular---especially the diving boards. The high board was for the brave! This photo shows the pool in 1922.
This photo of an early gas station shows the antique pumps which are so valuable today. Gas was cheap, but few could afford automobiles.
